Work in Canada for Foreigners and The Best Top 10 Jobs in Canada in 2022

Published

on

It’s estimated that about 65% of all the jobs currently available in Canada will be open to immigrants by 2022. Making this country one of the most sought-after places to work abroad. While English-language fluency will open up more opportunities than other language skills. Let’s take a look at some of the top 10 jobs for foreigners in Canada by 2022.

Work in Canada for Foreigners

It seems a bit unfair to some people. Why should foreigners be able to come to Canada, work, and live here, when so many Canadians are out of work? It may be true that a lot of working-age Canadians aren’t working – but only because they don’t want to.

The top 10 Jobs for Foreigners

The Canadian economy has been booming recently – construction is up; natural resources are in demand; there are jobs for anyone who wants one…anyone with at least Grade 12, anyway. So if you’re looking for a job, Canada’s probably not too bad a place right now…just remember: they get jobs first! But if you don’t mind waiting your turn, there are plenty of opportunities available when it comes time to apply.

1) Accountants and Bookkeepers

Each year, more than 300,000 foreign workers enter Canada on work permits. They come from over 200 countries and territories, but they all have one thing in common: they need a job. When you come to Canada as a foreign worker, your first step is finding work.

2) Biologists

Almost half of all biologists work as medical scientists. They generally work indoors, usually doing lab tests on samples and conducting experiments. Biologists who work as environmental scientists or ecologists often have to travel to gather their samples and conduct research.

3) Information Systems Analysts

The demand for Information Systems Analysts is also projected to grow by 11.2 percent, offering an average annual salary of $73,400. Information systems analysts study an organization’s current computer systems and techniques and make recommendations on how to improve their efficiency and effectiveness, Projections Central explains. The best part? These jobs are available all across Canada!

4) Truck Drivers

The growth of e-commerce has led to an increase in demand for truck drivers. Truck drivers work with a team and stay on a route, transporting products across different states. With just one load, they’re responsible for delivering goods from warehouses to distribution centers or stores that are often hundreds of miles apart. Most companies require their truck drivers to have at least two years of experience. If you’re interested in pursuing a career as a truck driver, reach out to your local businesses to learn about employment opportunities and training programs.

5) Retail Store Managers

If you want to work in Canada but can’t speak French, you can start at a retail store. Retail stores often hire general workers who help customers and stock shelves as well as managers who are responsible for running daily operations. If you have some retail experience and know-how to work with people, working at a retail store is easy to do.

6) Electricians

If you have a knack for electrical work, there’s no better place to put your skills to use than in Canada. Electricians are usually trained on the job, so being able to get started quickly is an important factor if you’re working as an independent contractor. Demand is high and set to continue growing, too. That means there are lots of opportunities out there—and it doesn’t hurt that many provinces offer licensed electricians a minimum wage of $20-$25/hour!

7) Construction Supervisors

Construction is one of Canada’s fastest-growing industries, and construction supervisors will be needed to ensure building projects run smoothly. Workers at all levels will need to be trained and overseen by a supervisor, which means that those with construction experience will be able to move into management positions—or choose to continue working on a project as an independent contractor. Experienced Construction Supervisors can expect to earn around $30-$50 per hour depending on their specific industry. If you want to work in Construction but don’t have years of experience under your belt, consider training as a Foreman.

8) Registered Nurses

The health care field is growing quickly and one of the best careers you can get is a Registered Nurse (RN). If you’re looking to work in Canada, getting an RN degree is your best bet. RNs take care of people who are sick or injured, which means that if you choose to work as an RN, chances are that you’ll be around sick or injured people on a daily basis. Of course, working as an RN can have its downsides too—injuries, stressful situations, and long hours—but these issues seem worth it when you consider how much money working as an RN can bring home. In fact, some nurses make more than $100k per year!

9) Cooker and Chef

In Alberta, there is a projected need for 32,000 new cooks and chefs. If you already have a cooking certificate or diploma, then applying to work as an entry-level cook will be easy. Even if you are Canadian, working as a cook or chef in Canada may not be your dream job but it is definitely worth considering due to its high demand!

10) Technical Sales Representatives

It’s no secret that companies rely heavily on technology to stay competitive and provide services. Technical sales representatives are those who sell tech-based products or services—think computer programmers, software developers, software engineers, etc.—to other businesses. Even if you’re not a programmer by trade, your sales skills might make you a good fit for IT sales.

It also helps to have an outgoing personality and positive outlook; customers like working with vendors who are excited about their products. Note that if you don’t speak fluent French (or English), there will be more of a challenge finding work as a technical sales representative in Quebec. However, if you would like to travel to Canada and become a citizen of Canada through a citizenship program.
