Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarships

The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarships are also funded in conjunction with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Each year up to 40 students are awarded FES sponsorships. They are paid a monthly amount of EUR 750 in Bachelor’s, Diploma, Magister, state examination programs or EUR 850 or, respectively when doing a Master’s course. The Free University of Berlin Scholarships

The Freie Universitat Berlin, also known in English as the Free University of Berlin, is a public research university in Berlin, Germany. Since its establishment in 1948, the university upholds its status for academic freedom as the institution takes part in the Western Free World. It is also a member of the eleven German elite universities and is continuously one of Germany’s Universities of Excellence. The Free University of Berlin offers no tuition fee policy, except for some postgraduate programs. Students will only cover small fees for registration every semester or for other purposes. Those with a residence permit for study can take a job (excluding as a student tutor) to support their living costs. However, those who are receiving any sponsorships are not allowed to work.

General requirements for international students include all academic documents, online application form, IELTS and TOEFL certificate (This part is waived for candidates who are able to provide other proofs), passport, student visa, motivation letter, research outline (for MA, Ph.D. applicants), supervisor agreement form (for Ph.D. applicants), and other supporting documents.

Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarships

The Heinrich Boll Foundation awards some scholarships to international students who gained their university entrance qualification from a school outside of Germany who wish to study for a Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Germany.

Scholarships are awarded for the regular period of study, may be extended by varying durations based on certain conditions necessary.
