About The Scholarship

The Fulbright program was created to give Americans who are studying or working abroad a chance to further their education, practice their English, and contribute to their communities. It’s open to college students as well as high school students and anyone else who wants to study/work in a foreign country for at least one year. You do not need to have prior academic or work experience to apply; however, you do need to be eligible to apply for the U.S. Fulbright Program and have either been accepted into an accredited college or university or be able to document the results of your previous studies within the past two years.

In order to qualify for this award, you must:

  • Pay full tuition, housing, etc., while you’re there;
  • Cultivate a productive and professional manner while at your host university/college;
  • Demonstrate aptitude in either language or culture-specific fields like education, business, science, or the arts when needed; and
  • Make a difference in addition of your host community by promoting peace and harmony throughout it (example: serving as a non-violent mediator).

The Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program

The Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship Program in the United States of America is currently accepting applications from students in 155 different countries. The scholarship is open to students pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees in any field that is offered by universities in the United States of America. The application period for the scholarship runs from February to October.

Through the Fulbright Foreign Student Program, graduate students, young professionals, and artists from other countries are given the opportunity to study and conduct research in the United States of America. More than 160 countries around the world are currently participating in the Fulbright Foreign Student Program.

Every year, the Fulbright Program awards scholarships to approximately 4,000 students studying in countries outside the United States. The Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or the United States Embassies are the organizations that are in charge of administering the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. These offices are responsible for processing all applications to the Foreign Student Program.
