Sheryl Barden has always been connected to people in the aviation industry — especially because she grew up in and around the business aviation recruiting firm, Aviation Personnel International, where she now serves as the company’s President and CEO.

Along with her team, Sheryl manages the hiring practices for private and corporate flight departments—keeping top of mind the nuances of working inside a hangar and at 30,000 ft. That’s why she plays a critical role in collaborating with both human resource departments and aviation hiring authorities to ensure that all nuances are addressed. She understands that finding the right person is less about type rating and number of flight hours — and much more about whether he or she has the same values, passion and safety focus as their potential employer.

Sheryl is a member of the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA), Women in Corporate Aviation (WCA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). She serves on NBAA’s Board of Directors, is Vice Chair of the NBAA Associate Member Advisory Council and, for six years, served on the NBAA Corporate Aviation Management Committee. Additionally, she’s past president of the International Women’s Forum of Northern California and is a current member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).

Sheryl earned her MBA from the McClaren School of Business at the University of San Francisco and a B.S. in Management with an emphasis in Personnel Management from Pennsylvania State University.

Community Service Scholarships
