It is being use by universities and colleges all over the world. It is a learning management system (LMS) by Instructure that have be adopt by all of the schools of Harvard University. It is based on three main components, including a Dashboard, a high-level overview of top courses, and a Global navigation menu that provides access to the main features of the LMS. It is a non-profit university founded in 1935. History

The college was named after its founder and first president, Hugh B. Logan, D.C. The first class of seven men and women enrolled on September 1, 1935. The college was housed in a converted residence at 4490 Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis’ Central West End area. After five more students joined in February 1936. The college moved to a 17-acre (6.88 ha) estate at 7701 Florissant Road in Normandy. a suburb of St. Louis that November.

In 1958, Carver College of Chiropractic (founded in 1906) of Oklahoma City merged with Logan Basic College of Chiropractic. From 1964, Missouri Chiropractic College also merged with Logan Basic College of Chiropractic with the name then changing to Logan College of Chiropractic.

In 1972, Logan acquired the buildings and grounds of the former Maryknoll Seminary in Chesterfield, Missouri. Additional buildings have since been constructe; the Health Center in 1982, the Science and Research Center in 1986, the Sports/Wellness Complex with adjacent ballfields and pavilion in 2000, the William D.

Purser Center in 2007, and the Standard Process Student Center in 2008. Additionally, the former Maryknoll chapel was renovated and transformed into the Learning Resource Center in 2003, the Biofreeze Sports & Rehabilitation Center was added to the Health Center in 2006,. and the university opened a new Educational Wing which includes an assessment center in 2012. The campus is on a 112-acre (45.3 ha) wooded hilltop and was included in MSNBC’s 2007 list of “America’s Most Beautiful College Campuses”. The institution changed its name to Logan University in 2013–14.

About Dr. McDonald

Clay McDonald, DC, MBA, JD became the seventh President of Logan University in March 2013. Dr. McDonald has more than 20 years of experience as a Senior Administrator at chiropractic institutions and 30 years as a successful Chiropractic Practitioner. After graduating from Logan with his chiropractic degree in August 1982, Dr. McDonald spent eight years in Eureka, Mont., where he co-owned a multidisciplinary clinic that linked medical, chiropractic, physical therapy and mental health.

Dr. McDonald earned his Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from St. Ambrose University in 1997. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Valparaiso University School of Law. With a Healthcare and Elder Law Certificate and Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate.

Dr. McDonald has participated in numerous accreditation activities through the Council on Chiropractic Education and was a CCE board/council member from 2005 to 2013. Currently, Dr. McDonald serves on the executive committee of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges and is a board member for the Spine Institute for Quality.

What Is Canvas?

Canvas is a course management system that supports online learning and teaching. This allows professors to post grades, information, and assignments online. It is being use by universities and colleges all over the world. Canvas is use at Rio Hondo College to create online courses. To replace some of the normal time spent in the traditional classroom. Or to supplement traditional classes (“web-enhance”). While online and hybrid courses are clearly indicate in the schedule of classes, web-enhance courses are not.

Canvas offers discussion boards for asynchronous discussions, chat rooms for live discussions, centralized email (Canvas Conversations), so you can stay in touch with your instructor and communicate with other students, and even a way to submit assignments and take exams. Canvas provides you with a password-protected online classroom in which you will submit your work and communicate with your instructor and classmates. Note that your instructor uses the tools provided by Canvas to create his or her own virtual classroom, so just as your face-to-face courses vary significantly, so will your online courses. Becoming familiar with the Canvas environment and its tools is the first step in succeeding in your online course.

Canvas provides the tools to support online learning in a variety of ways. This can range from structured learning pathways to dynamic, interactive virtual classrooms. How a course is present online depends on the content and complexity of the learning material. And the delivery methodology used by the instructor.

As with any classroom, it is a changing environment – expect each module to apply different tools and techniques. Join in, ask questions, and participate as you would in any classroom.
