However, it is a good thing to have a phone (iPhone) and another good thing to maintain it and keep it in good condition. The steps that will be coming up below is factory reset for various version of iPhone unless specifically mentioned about the main version.
what is iphone?
The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple that combines a computer, iPod, digital camera and cellular phone into one device with a touchscreen interface. While it was not considered the first smartphone, the iPhone has helped drive the global shift to mobile computing among both consumers and businesses. Technically, there’s absolutely no difference between an iPhone and a smartphone.
Because any handheld device with a touchscreen interface capable of performing most of the functions of a computer and with a running operating system is considered a smartphone.
The iPhone gets its name because it can be customized to suit the user. Its screen and applications can be altered to individual taste, like iPod and iGoogle. It highlights the ‘i’ — individuality of the user.
The iPhone is a multimedia-enabled smartphone, which made its appearance a couple of years ago. The i at the start of iPhone is one of its defining features. And it mostly refers to “internet”, though not entirely, and the story of how it got there is slightly more complicated. The naming convention was first introduced with the iMac. Launched in 1998, the computer marked the beginning of the modern Apple.
History and availability
Development of what was to become the iPhone began in 2004, when Apple started to gather a team of 1,000 employees led by hardware engineer Tony Fadell, software engineer Scott Forstall and design engineer Sir Jonathan Ive to work on the highly confidential “Project Purple.” Apple CEO Steve Jobs steered the original focus away from a tablet (which Apple eventually revisited in the form of the iPad) towards a phone. Apple created the device during a secretive collaboration with Cingular Wireless (which became AT&T Mobility) at the time—at an estimated development cost of US$150 million over thirty months.
According to Steve Jobs, the “i” word in “iMac” (and therefore “iPod”, “iPhone” and “iPad”) stands for internet, individual, instruct, inform, and inspire. Apple rejected the “design by committee” approach that had yielded the Motorola ROKR E1, a largely unsuccessful collaboration with Motorola. Among other deficiencies, the ROKR E1’s firmware limited storage to only 100 iTunes songs to avoid competing with Apple’s iPod nano.
Cingular gave Apple the liberty to develop the iPhone’s hardware and software in-house and even paid Apple a fraction of its monthly service revenue (until the iPhone 3G), in exchange for four years of exclusive U.S. sales, until 2011.
What if I lose my data or vital information I really need in the phone?
This is one of the most frequent questions asked by some people on the iPhone reset issue. This can be really solved and taken care of.
What you will do is that you can actually back up most of these information like documents, images, contacts etc before you begin the factory reset process.
Therefore, as an iPhone user, all you need to do is to backup information using iCloud. You can do this by going to:
- type your name on top of the page
- iCloud backup.
Then back up the information completely.
Furthermore, you should keep the phone ON during backup and most importantly, connected to WIFI network as well.
However, I will us to treat this iPhone reset in few and simple steps: soft reset iPhone, hard reset iPhone and factory reset Phone.
iPhone Factory Reset Settings and Review
Let us go with the main target. The factory reset settings for the iPhone is very easy and I want you to do this yourself so take it easy.
So what are the things associated with factory settings probably after its work is done. Factory setting will wipe out many information thereby turn back time to the phones production when it was released newly.
In other words, the factory setting wipes out your whole apps, movies, and many other files. Some people do factory setting before selling their phones while some do that when there is issues wrong with the phone.
Before you do this, make sure you already back up your files somewhere like I said earlier.
Basic steps to help you do this factory settings-
- Firstly, open your iPhone and go to settings, then tap on the general and then finally reset. This can also show variety of options but you can choose erase all content and settings.
- If you already set your iPhone device on code then before you begin the factory reset then when you get to settings, you will be ask to put a code before you can erase contents in the phone.
- The next step is to log in with your apple ID which will show that that it is removed from the phone.
- Finally it will take some minutes then the phone reboots and set up as a new device.
Practically it is done this way:
- Go to Settings>General>Reset
- Click om Erase all content and settings
- Then erase iPhone
- Key in the apple password
- Then factory reset
iPhone Soft Reset Pattern
Now, this is an easy means because all you need to do is just to power OFF and ON your iPhone device. In other words, one can say is just the Reboot process.
However, if you make use of iPhone SE or iPhone 5s then press down the side button and wait for some minutes for the power off slide to appear.
Back up some Files
This is actually a good step and I think I have talked more on this back up file. Before you embark on anything with the reset please make sure you back up your important files.
The most secured area to back up files in iPhone is at iCloud. Go to the settings and on top of the page select iCloud and then Backup files.
However, you can still back up to PC or mac device and keep documents safe.
Force Restart iPhone
When the phone is on off and blackout mode. That is to say no more powering or looks like dead.
Therefore all you need to do is to force restart it or hard restart the device to power it back on. So you have to achieve this by pressing volume up button, then do the same with volume down button. The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple that combines a computer, iPod, digital camera and cellular phone into one device with a touchscreen interface. While it was not considered the first smartphone, the iPhone has helped drive the global shift to mobile computing among both consumers and businesses.
